Berkeley is a very dog-friendly community. We have made a number of dog park buddies and Lovie is such a social butterfly he always manages to engage a taker or two. The city of Berkeley California has two office dog parks that have off-leash dog areas: one at the Berkeley Marina, Cesar Chavez, and the other in Central Berkeley that is fenced and mixed sizes, Ohlone.

I ride my bike by Ohlone all the time but never took Lovie there because in my opinion the space is too small for a fenced area with small and big dogs together. I have heard about a lot of fights too but fortunately haven’t witnessed any there. It does seem like dogs fight when they feel enclosed.

I took Lovie to the Berkeley Marina all the time. The circumference has a mixed use trail that is on-lead, however, there is an off-leash area in the center. Watch our video review!
